Berkeley Moir
As most of you will be aware, Berkeley Moir passed away in December 2006. As a fitting tribute, it was agreed by the committee and members for the group to purchase a picture of Berkeley's, with a view to donating it to the art gallery. There is already a painting of Berkeley's hanging in the Mayor's office, so it was felt that the donated picture will be a compliment to this one, for a more public audience.
The gesture is one which would have been approved by Berkeley as he was a person who had a sense of civic pride, duty and was both talented and generous. It has been suggested that the Founder Member's work should be donated by one of the other Founders; Jack Hammill at a ceremony to be arranged. Any suggestions from the members would be appreciated.
Founder's Plate
Congratulations to Jenny Davis who won the Founder's Plate in 2006. The competition was judged by Colin Gilbert and presented by Jack Hammill.
